I’m a Vancouver-based freelance photojournalist working across breaking news, features, and documentary storytelling—rooted in community reporting and published nationally and internationally.

I formally studied photojournalism in 1997 and have worked professionally since; features writing developed alongside that and later expanded into reporting and editing roles. Photography has never been an add-on to my work, but a parallel, foundational practice shaped by the same principles that guide my reporting. Writing continues on a selective basis, with photography as my primary focus.

I'm very well travelled internationally but my career has long ties to community journalism that have earned awards both provincially and nationally, and I still work regularly on local stories in British Columbia—sometimes as the reporting foundation for feature work (if they contain strong visual narratives) that run in larger publications.
